LVFocus was established in 2022 by two ophthalmologists, Dr Louise Ramsköld Cabaça MBBS FEBO FRCOphth and Dr Vaishali Lodhia MBBS BSc FRCOphth.

Dr Lodhia grew up in Kenya and held an early interest in global health. After having met Dr Ramsköld Cabaça during their medical training in the UK, they decided to set up LVFocus, a non-profit organisation focused on supporting and strengthening the knowledge base and clinical skills of eye-care professionals in Kenya and beyond.
